Xavier High School in Middletown, CT seeks a highly motivated and skilled colleague for the position of Assistant Director for Events and Media. This position will have an approximate start date of June 16, 2014.

The Assistant Director for Events and Media reports directly to the Director of Advancement. The Assistant Director serves as the lead on event planning and management as well as the lead on social media engagement, publications, and other media for the Office of Advancement.

Major
Responsibilities:
Events
Coordinates, manages, and assists with Reunion programming. Serves as the point person for each of the reunion classes and assisting in planning the reunion events (Reunions are typically held on Homecoming Weekend in October or a spring weekend in May or June).
Manages and coordinates the Homecoming Weekend programming.
Designs and implements successful regional events that inspire alumni to give back and come back to Xavier.
Coordinates Career Night with alumni and parents to educate current students on potential areas of study in college as well as offer recent alumni a chance to network with the presenters.
Serves as the liaison for the Office of Advancement to the Kohs Classic Basketball Tournament Committee.
Assists in the planning and implementation of the Alumni Golf Classic.
Assists with the annual Xavier Auction.

Media
Oversees and serves as the primary lead on the publication of Xavier Today, Xavier High School's magazine. Coordinates the generation of material, copy, images. Works with the school's outside graphic designer, if needed, on layout. The magazine is published 3 times annually.
Oversees the production of the Ad Book, an annual student driven fundraising campaign, with the Advancement Associate.
Designs and produces invitations, programs, and brochures for all events related to the Office of Advancement, and other offices at the school as time allows and is necessary.
Arranges for photography from internal and external sources for events at the school.
Establishes and maintains good relationships with the local Connecticut media outlets, contacting them as needed with press releases and inviting them to campus for important events.
Maintains, updates, and distributes a monthly e-news blast to constituents.
Develops and maintains effective use of the existing Evertrue Alumni App for Android and iOS.
Develops and maintains effective use of the existing Online Community through iModules.
Serve as one of the primary points of contact for the management and development of the Xavier High School website.

Administrative
Works with the Assistant Director of Annual and Planned Giving on recruiting, cultivating, and maintaining a successful class contact program through the Alumni Association.
Works closely with alumni and parent volunteers.
Runs a bi-weekly report on events that are upcoming, being prepared for, and closed.
Other duties and tasks as necessary and assigned by the Director of Advancement and/or Headmaster.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of three years of work experience in publications, event planning, media and graphic design, or similar. Preference will be given to those who have worked in secondary or higher educational institutions.
Excellent knowledge and skill with graphic design packages such as InDesign, Photoshop, and the Adobe Design Suite.
Excellent knowledge and skill with Raiser's Edge, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
Evening and weekend work and travel will be required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
