The Chief Operations Officer oversees the successful generation of the Community Health Center's (CHC) targeted operating revenue, delivery of clinical excellence, and an outstanding patient satisfaction experience. The COO directs, supervises, and coordinates the overall, system-wide, day-to-day clinical delivery and support functions of Community Health Center, Inc (CHC) and participates as a member of the leadership team in CHC's planning for long term growth and stability. Through subordinate Site Directors he or she has direct line responsibility for accomplishment of financial targets, clinical excellence, patient and staff satisfaction, and efficient processes at CHC's thirteen clinical sites.
The Chief Operations Officer is responsible for planning, developing, evaluating and overseeing the daily operations of the health center. Breadth of responsibility includes all phases of operational revenue generation, patient scheduling and reception and efficient delivery of clinical services. Responsibilities include development and administration of systems and staff that insure both the achievement of financial objectives and an exceptional experience for CHC's patients.
Specifically the COO, in collaboration with colleagues and subordinates:
Monitors operational financial performance, at all levels - overall, by site and by provider. In collaboration develops the tools to facilitate insight and actionable data.
Assures consistent, exceptional patient experiences, including clinical delivery,phone, and in-person contact.
Ensures that the system-wide operation runs smoothly, effectively, and in compliance with all regulations.
Responsible for processes and systems, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Working with subordinate teams, establishes and implements organizational policies and procedures.
Creates a culture of world class quality care and patient service.
Supports the business growth of CHC.
Fosters close relationships with and between providers and other staff.
Works closely with Leadership Team colleagues.
Promotes understanding, communication, vision, and strategies.

STAFF LEADERSHIP
Is responsible for the selection of key subordinate Directors and Managers.
Establishes andadministers employee selection standards in subordinates sites and departments.
Provides direction and feedback to Directors and Managers.
Insures that employees at all levels have insight into the achievement of financial and operational standards.
Evaluates staff performance. Ensures that subordinates are performing in a manner consistent with CHC's mission and budgets.
Takes charge, directs and coordinates activities of others, and assumes leadership responsibility when appropriate.
Additional Specifications
Formal Education & Certification
Graduate degree preferred, ideally in a related field.
Six-sigma or equivalent training. Black belt level preferred.
Knowledge & Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a large primary care setting.
Significant prior achievement in the generational of successful financial outcomes.
A track-record of recruiting, motivating and promoting high quality staff.
Demonstrated experience in systems improvement and the delivery of high quality customer service.
Experience employing sophisticated data analysis to inform objective decision making.
Substantive health care regulation compliance experience.
