Residential Support Worker-Residential Program (Adult) 11RW2Gilead Community Services is seeking a caring and recovery-oriented Residential Support Worker to join our multi-disciplinary supported apartment program staff.
About the position:
The Residential Support Worker for Gilead's Middletown area adult supported apartment program works Tues - Sat 11p-7a providing coaching, mentoring, advocacy, and supportive services in a program serving adults with major mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.
The position is an awake overnight position.
The individual in this role also performs or assists with household chores and provides teaching and training in areas such as money management and daily living skills, providing prompts as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferredMust maintain and provide proof of valid driver's license and automobile insurance in good standingReliable use of personal vehicle as needed

Responsibilities:
Understanding needs of clients experiencing severe and prolonged mental health and substance abuse disorders through Gilead's training and educationAssisting with meal preparation, household chores, shopping, cleaning, laundry, and money management, in the teaching of daily living skillsProviding recovery-oriented services with an emphasis on dignity, respect, and inclusion of family and other natural supportsExchanging information from one shift to another, through required reporting documentation and communication, both electronic and paper documentation, as neededAssisting with coordination and provision of transportation to treatment, community and social outings, and other essential appointmentsWorking with the treatment team to support clients' mental health, providing education and training regarding symptom management, and assessing for risks as necessaryActing with compassion, integrity, and ethics.
