The Research Associate/Biostatistician performs various types of statistical analyses for the entire research portfolio of the Weitzman Institute. The position will be responsible for assisting in the management of existing grant funded projects, preparing new grants and manuscripts as well as specific research tasks including tracking grant progress, data collection, informed consent, IRB applications and updates, data analysis, report running, coordination and other tasks as assigned.
Works under general supervision of Director of Research and Evaluation
Collects and analyzes data
Writes technical reports detailing analysis, outcomes, and findings.
Utilizes established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data
Performs library/online research/pubmed searches
Assists with grant report writing and organization of grant submissions
Completes electronic health record chart audits/data collection
Assists in developing grant reports
Assists in developing new grant proposals
Manages databases to ensure integrity of data and compliance with research protocols
Travel between sites
Additional Specifications
Bachelor's degree statistics or biostatistics (Master's degree preferred) Proficient to expert knowledge of SPSS.
Ability to create, manipulate, and analyze large data sets
Advanced knowledge of variety of statistical techniques, including advanced regression analysis and hierarchical linear modeling
Experience with psychometrics is helpful but not required
Willingness to learn new statistical methods
Proven experience supporting research projects
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to public health research
Knowledge of electronic health record systems
Ability to maintain priority and focus
Flexibility
Excellent oral and written skills
Attention to detail
Ability to follow procedures and protocols consistently
Current Driver's license
