Vehicle Description 1960 AMC Rambler American Super This car was purchased brand new in 1960 from Andreazza Bros.
Buick/Rambler/Opel in Weed CA by a Mr.
Kafer.
It is believed to have stayed in his ownership until it was sold to someone in NV where it stayed for many years and then came east to MA and then into CT.
We're not sure exactly how many owners in that time frame but we're guessing 4-5.
This car was ordered with a slew of options for back then including:
Automatic transmission, inside tilt mirror, left side outside mirror, weather eye heater, back up lights, oil filter, foam cushion back seat, reclining front seats, custom horn ring, undercoating, windshield washer, HD radiator and oversized tires.
This car is still wearing her original 18 code Westchester Green Iridescent paint, with some touch ups here and there.
She starts and idles super smooth and drives just as a 1960 Rambler should.
The 4 wheel drums stop solidly and the flathead inline 6 cylinder (195CI roughly 100 HP) pulls strongly through the 3 speed Flash-O-Matic auto trans.
The interior has some needs but is all original.
The driver door card has water damage to it, as does the rear package tray.
The headliner has some staining which might come out with some light washing/scrubbing.
The seats are in beautiful condition as the car is only showing 58,000 miles.
These seats fold all the way down allowing the businessman the ability to sleep in the car during sales trips, or the young couple to do the same while making long interstate trips.
The underside still holds most of it's optional undercoat and it has protected the unibody from any rot.
There is some minor surface corrosion on some of the suspension bits, could be rectified by application of NH Coatings, which would keep things stock and unrestored.
Here's the beauty of this car - It's an inexpensive, reliable entry into the classic car world.
For well less than $10,000 you can get into this car and quite honestly, very rarely would you see another one at any cruise night or local car show.
In her original, survivor condition, she'll garner more attention than that souped up 69 Camaro sitting next to her.
Get in, Turn the Key and - Enjoy.
$7200 will buy her.
Any questions, for many more photos and video, to schedule a time to see her or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you!.
